Description: One of a series of photos documenting the opening of the children's wading pool in Princes Gardens. See also PCC annual report 1924/5 p.5 and related photos pp 6, 8, 22. In the mid-1920s, Council developed several playgrounds (see Wilde pp 15-18). Extensions at Princes Gardens, which included the children's playground, were made possible by the purchase of land adjacent to the existing gardens, along Essex Street.
