Description: A view of Collingwood taken from the town hall tower as a contrast with the series of photos taken from the tower at the time of its completion in the 1880s. The intervening years saw the demolition of many houses and the construction of factories to replace them, although there are still many more houses shown in this photo than exist in 1992. The Collingwood Education Centre has not yet been built (more houses were to make way for this) and the old State School has palm trees in the playground. The Gipps Street Methodist Church is still standing.
