Description: The Hon Sir Thomas Bent was Mayor more often than any other in the history of Brighton. He was Mayor of the Borough of Brighton in 1874, 1878-79 and 1884-85. He continued to serve as Mayor of the Town of Brighton in 1887-88, 1903 and 1908. He was also the member of the Legislative Assembly for Brighton. This portrait hangs in the Council Chamber of Bayside City Council.
