Description: Colour photograph, 8.5 x 11.5cm. View looking north along Hampton Beach, before restoration. By the 1960s erosion of the beach was a serious issue. Restoration began in 1997 with the construction of two rock groynes and the restoration and building of timber groynes. A dredge then pumped sand onto the beach, where it was spread by a bulldozer.
