Description: Some students of Berwick Primary School c.1954. Berwick Primary School (No.40) was established in 1854 on Captain Robert Gardiner’s property. A new School opened in 1861 on the corner of Peel Street and Princes Highway. It was re-located to a new building in 1869 on the corner of Lyall Road and Peel Street, where this picture was taken.
