Description: The official opening of teh Cobden War Memorial in 1925. The photograph was taken from the balcony of the Grand Central Hotel, known today as Thompson's Hotel. In later years, this memorial was relocated to the intersection of Silvester & Victoria Streets, next to the Civic Hall, because it was deemed a traffic hazard to motorized vehicles.
