Description: Photograph From left to right two hotel workers. Harriet Jose. Clarence Jose. Mary Jose and Richard Jose. This particular Hotel was the second Five Mile Hotel at Alexandra Road and was burnt down in 1906. Lin Cumming collection The site of the Five Mile Hotel is along the present Maroondah Highway near the intersection of the Goulburn Valley Highway beside the Swanton property. It was run by Richard Jose between 1899 and 1903. The first Five Mile Hotel was situated on the land to the west of the second site and was run by the owner of the land at the time William Parsons between June 1869 and sometime in the 1870's.
