Description: From a water-colour sketch by the Rev. F.W. Rolland, Geelong College. Pictured, a close-up of sketch of the old, original buildings which Captain John Werge Howey (refer: #2362.2) erected in approximately 1843, facing the Yarra. Around 1908, the present principal beneficiary, Captain John Edwards Presgrave Howey, demolished the old house, and the property was cut up in a subdivisional sale. In 1934, about 2 1/2 acres was retained by the Howey clan, facing on to Alexandra Avenue.
