Description: Taken from the River Yarra and Burnley. The block of land on which this historic house stands was bought by Mr. David Hill (one of the overlanders) in 1840. It comprised 60 acres, and reached from Gardiners Creek Road (Toorak Road) to the middle of the Yarra. It was David Hill who bought all the grazing rights over Prahran and Brighton from Captain Lonsdale's dummies, the Langhorne brothers. Pictured residence in the background, River Yarra foreground.
