Description: Copy of a photo re-published in Toorak Times (16 April 1975; #9285) of the Prahran Mechanics' Institute early this century before it relocated from Chapel Street to High Street. The two street level tenants (James Knox and W. Lawrence) assist in dating the image using Sands & McDougall directories.
