Description: Watercolour painting of a substantial two storey house and estate, apparently set in a hilly part of South Yarra. On the skyline could possibly be the chimney of a brick kiln. One suggestion is that this could depict the northern end of Cromwell Road, near Rockley Gardens, looking north west towards Forrest Hill. That hill was higher in the 1850s than today - it was considerably diminished by clay quarrying.
