Description: Mr. William Ison, one of the areas first residents, was born at Cambridge, England in 1832, the eldest of 15 children. He left England on 18/10/1855 aged 22 years and arrived at Portland, Victoria in 1855. This photo was taken on 1/3/1915 at age 83 years and 6 months. Copy of original held by Historical Society, presented by Mr. Cliff Ison (Grandson) in July 1980. ison, william
