Description: Size: 108 x 153 mm An elaborately landscaped rock-edged pool at the south-east corner of the Darling Gardens in Clifton Hill near the intersection of South Terrace and Hoddle Street. (See also photo 14). The tall pile of rocks at the back of the pool is for a waterfall. Beyond the picket and wire fence the rest of the Darling Gardens is more simply planted and landscaped with rough grass and trees. To the left is the gardener's shed with an attractively shaped roof and decorative metal finials on the roof ridge. (This is roughly where the present toilet block now stands). There are several palm trees. In the background can be seen the Methodist Church on the corner of Wellington and Hodgkinson streets and St. John's Catholic Church in Queen's Parade.
