Description: Size: 228 x 157 mm A view of Dr. Singleton's dispensary on the corner of Wellington Street and Little Smith Street. On the footpath outside a woman sits on a bench while attending to a child in a pram, and two cars are parked at the kerb. This building still stands but is no longer a health centre. Dr Singleton first opened his free medical dispensary in Wellington St (in a smaller building) in 1869, offering spiritual as well as physical welfare. The Collingwood Community Health Centre is its direct descendant.
