ID: 9309
Copyright: Image held by Collingwood Library
Org ID: CL PIC 445

Description: Size: 101 x 146 mm Six young women photographed at Mornington on the Whybrow's boot factory picnic. These annual picnics were an important event in the social calendar of the larger factories. Four of the girls wear the currently fashionable wide-brimmed high-crowned hats sitting high on top of wide coiffures, while the other two seem able to resist fashion and have their hair simply dressed and topped with simple caps. The woman identified on the photo as 'Mum' is Ada Payne, granddaughter of Richard Walker (see photos 513 and 264). Content of image: Whybrow and Company Source of image: Donated by Lorna Pearce
Subject: recreation
