Description: Studley Park Bridge including houses and factories on the east side of Church Street. The first building visible is probably the Vauxhall distillery and the building with the square chimney might also be part of this distillery, or the Distillerie Francaise. The Vauxhall owner or manager, Mr Martin, lived next door. Beyond this are eight houses which were in the block between Bent Street and Nelson Street. Nowadays this whole area is taken up with the C.U.B. building and Bent Street no longer exists. The bridge is in poor repair and the photo probably dates from not long before its demolition. William Martin, the toll collector, apparently lived next to the bridge although it is not possible to see his residence in this photo.
