Description: Dr Edward Bonaventure Heffernan's house at 8 Brunswick St Fitzroy. Built in c.1895 and demolished in 1956. Edward Heffernan was born in Melbourne in October 1848, went to Scotch College to matriculate in 1865 and went to Melbourne University and was a very early medical graduate. He commenced practice as a resident medical officer at the Melbourne Hospital in 1874 and opened his own medical practice at 8 Brunswick Street in 1876.
