Description: Image held by Fitzroy Library. Looking north. This property was classified as 'repairable'. It was bought by Housing Commission on 2 June 1970 for $7,250. The date of the demoliotion is unknown. On the left to West, there is an industrial building on two blocks. Behind, to North there is a factory (now gone) in Boston Place. Taken within the block Church Street-Rae Street- Nicholson Street. Targeted by Housing Commission, Victoria for broadscale demolition and construction of highrise apartment blocks. This was opposed by residents, both tenants and owners and factories. This campaign was a turning point in public housing policy and practice in Victoria.
