Description: Image held by Fitzroy Library. No. 14 is partly shown on the left and No. 8 is partly shown on the right. No.10 and No.12 have been demolished. Classified as 'Good weatherboard',not for sale to the housing Commision. Also visible is a factory in Boston Place. Taken within the block Church Street-Rae Street- Nicholson Street. Targeted by Housing Commission, Victoria for broadscale demolition and construction of highrise apartment blocks. This was opposed by residents, both tenants and owners and factories. This campaign was a turning point in public housing policy and practice in Victoria.
