Description: Image held by Fitzroy Library. In photograph No.6 (part), No. 4 (demolished), and No. 2. No. 4 'Repairable weatherboard'; bought by Housing Commission on 1 December 1970 and vacant on 31 March 1971. There was no demolition or repair order on this property. The demolition date is unknown. No. 2 after Survey was classified as 'repairable weatherboard'. Taken within the block Church Street-Rae Street- Nicholson Street. Targeted by Housing Commission, Victoria for braodscale demolition and construction of highrise apartment blocks. This was opposed by residents, both tenants and owners and factories. This campaign was a turning point in public housing policy and practice in Victoria.
