Description: Image held by Fitzroy Library. Looking North: 'Lauretta' 19 Brooks Crescent. Bought by the Housing Commission on 4 August 1970 for $6,000. Survey: 'repairable weartherboard'. It ws tenanted by an elderly widow who had lived there for nearly 30 years. Also visible is a Laneway and No. 1 Watkins Street to the right; part of a vacant block at No.17 to left; behind roof of 28-30 Salisbury Crescent and part roof of No 32 Salisbury Cresent. As of 2009: No. 21 and No. 23 (with revised numbering) seem to be the only Brooks Cresent houses still surviving. All 24 houses in the Crescent were rated 'sound' or 'repairable in the surveys.
