Description: Image held at Richmond Library. A dark image which makes it difficult to discern the men on the river's edge washing wool. Possibly the white patches on the left-hand bank are the wool. The factories in the background are well lit. For further information on woolwashing in Richmond refer to RFC 596. A hand-written label beneath the image reads: 'Woolwashing in the Yarra between Old Church Street Bridge and the Convent Willows. 1870.'
Subject: wool scouring
