Description: Image held at Richmond Library. A view of the old quarries at Burnely now flooded by the river. According to G. B. Pritchard's booklet 'Old Yarra History' (located in RFC 572) to prevent flooding the river was straightened by altering its course through the quarries. This also created Como Island, now Herring Island
