Description: Image held by Richmond Library.
A caricature from the Richmond Guardian showing a seated man, presumably a doctor because of the ear trumpet on his desk. Richmond Guardian, 29 August, 1925. The accompanying caption reads: ' A. Haynes, F.R.C.S. Dr A. Haynes, the esteemed health officer of the City of Richmond, is a popular and efficient medico - popular because, with a large circle of lodge patients outside of his civic position, he is always ready to give his best consideration and care to any call from his numerous clientele. Richmond people on the whole enjoy excellent health and, so far as civic administration can assist in maintaining this desirable record, Dr Haynes is always ready to co-operate. He does his best to prevent the spread of any infectious diseases, and gives assiduous attention to every measure which will promote the health of the citizens, including the oversight of the boarded-out children; and, as regards his own genial personality, why, our cartoon speaks for him.'
