Description: Image held by Richmond Library. A posed portrait of Councillor Egan wearing fur-trimmed robes, standing beside elaborate furniture. Michael Egan was a councillor throughout the 1860s and early 1870s, and mayor of the borough of Richmond for the year 1868-9. (Richmond was created a municipality in 1855, a town in 1872, and a city in 1882.) The library holds the original nineteenth century cabinet portrait. Written on the back of the photograph: 'Michael Egan, 6th Mayor of the Municipality of Richmond 1868'.
