Description: Image held by Richmond Library. The Hawthorn Railway Bridge crosses over the Yarra river at Bridge Road . The original iron and bluestone single track bridge was built in 1861, and was modified several times until it was taken out of use in 1912. This image is a relatively recent copy of a nineteenth-century post card, source unknown. For further information consult local history files RFC 396 and RFC 473.
