The coach works stood on the north east corner of Swan and Coppin Streets, facing Swan Street. From 1910 the Mason family lived at 210 Coppin St. The boy, W. R. Mason, eventually joined his father in business and the sign was changed to T. R. Mason and Son. T. R. Mason was a self-made man who began his business in a small way in Burnley Street. moving to Swan Street when it expanded. During the 1930's and 1940's motor vehicles became more common and the business declined. In the 1940's W. R. Mason gave up the workshop and went to work at Fishermen's Bend where G.M.H. now stands. He retired in 1954 and died in 1974 aged 81.
